More commendations have come the ways of  Nigerian hip hop artistes, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun aka Whizkid and David Adeleke also known as Davido, for the  awards the duo picked up recently.

The singers won awards at the Music of Black Origin held in Leeds, United Kingdom last week. The latest to congratulate the duo are President Muhammadu Buhari; former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, and Media entrepreneur,  Senator Ben Murray Bruce.
According to President Buhari, who spoke through his Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Mr. Femi Adesina, the duo showed exemplary qualities for other youths to follow.

A statement by Mr. Adesina reads: “The President affirms that both singers have showcased the rich talents in the country, and brought pride to the nation through
their many songs and performances, commending their dedication, hard work and charity works,” The President however advised other Nigeria musicians to be mindful of unnecessary distractions that may derail their musical career.
Former President Jonathan while congratulating the duo said he is proud of them for raising Nigeria’s flag for something positive not negative. Jonathan, in a post on his facebook page said: “Your emergence as the Best International Act at the #MOBOAwards is a proud moment for Nigeria, and the fact that you emerged over JAY-Z and Drake makes it even more celebratory. WELL DONE.”
Ben Bruce, while celebrating the singers, said his proudest moment as a Nigerian was seeing Whizkid defeating the likes of J-Zay and Drake to win the International Best Artiste award, while Davido picked the Best African Act.
