BREAKING: Mystery fire razes Kogi House of Assembly

* Amid suspicion of sabotage

An early morning fire, on Monday, fazed the Kogi State House of Assembly complex located in the Crusher area of the capital, Lokoja.

The fire ripped through the roof of the Chamber, causing extensive damage to the floor of the House.

Speaker of the House, Hon. Mathew Kolawole, and the State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara, were among the early callers at the assembly complex.

At the time of filing this report, the cause of the blaze had not been established.

However, Hon Kolawole alleged sabotage, but declined to speak further on his suspicion.

Asked whether it could be linked to the recent feud between the Assembly and the Dangote Group, he said that is left to the security agents to establish.

“We should leave security people to do their work and give us a report, going forward,” the Speaker said.
