Unknown gunmen, on Tuesday evening, reportedly attacked the convey of the Abia State Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Investment, Dr. Chimezie Ukaegbu, at Samek Junction, by Faulks road, Aba.
The attack on the commissioner’s convey left two mobile police men attached to him dead, while their Hilux vehicle was set ablaze.
The commissioner, who was unhurt, was on his way back to Umuahia, after an official engagement in Aba.
A trending video showed a dead Mobile police officer in a pool of his blood while residents gathered around the scene in frightful small groups.
At the time of filing this report, Governor Alex Otti was said to be holding a closed door meeting with heads of security agencies in the State.
