Fighters of the Boko Haram sect and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), on Monday, released a propaganda video displaying a large cache of weapons while openly declaring their readiness for a jihad and their intent to establish an Islamic State in Nigeria.
In the video which has since gone viral, one of the leaders of the groups who spoke in Hausa, boasted that the terrorists have all it takes to wage a jihad war in the country.
With chants of “Allahu Akbar” (Allah is the greatest) in the background with the camera panning across rows of rifles, ammunition boxes, and heavy weapons, the narrator boasted that very soon, Nigeria will become an Islamic State.
“Look at the weapons of the mujahideen. These are AK-47s, so many of them, with plenty of ammunition,” he boasted.
“We also have anti-aircraft guns. We got them from Nigerian soldiers and from Libya. We are ready for jihad. We will not stop until we establish the Islamic State.”
While he spoke, the video showed numerous assault rifles, belt-fed machine guns, and anti-aircraft weapons laid out on the floor, suggesting a significant stockpile.
Another fighter who also spoke in the same vein, claimed the weapons are fully operational and urging others to join their cause.
“These weapons are clean and in perfect condition. We are prepared to fight the infidels. Allah is with us. Brothers, join the jihad.”
The video ended with more chantings of “Allahu Akbar” and a declaration that “Victory belongs to Allah,” while fighters continued displaying their weapons.
