Association lauds appointment of Ibiyemi Tunji-Bello as LASU VC

The Lagos Integrity Group, an association of Lagos State indigenes, has applauded the appointment of Prof Ibiyemi Tunji-Bello as the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU).

Speaking during the Thanksgiving service for the new V.C, which held at the R.C.C.G, Testimony Chapel in Lekki, Lagos, President of the group, Pa Dayo Macaulay described the appointment as one of the best things to happen not only to Lagos State, but the country as a whole.

Macaulay described Prof Tunji-Bello as an inspiring personality with the sterling virtues of a successful mother and wife.

“We thank God and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for this excellent choice. I have no doubt that she will surpass the popular expectation.

A woman leader of the group, Alhaja Mojisola Adewale, said her joy and the generality of Lagosians especially the womenfolk, knew no bound the day it was announced that one of their daughters had been appointed the Vice-Chancellor of LASU.

She said: “We rejoice with our distinguished daughter, and we very proud of her; not only for her success in her academic career, but also as a successful mother and wife to our equally successful son, Mr. Tunji Bello.  Going by her inspiring performances during her period as Acting VC, I have no doubt that she will leave an indelible footprint in her new role as the Vice Chancellor. Her tenure will be a reference point of excellence in the history of the university.”
