Anambra guber: APGA clears Soludo, Okolo, Ibe, Okwudili to seek party’s ticket

* Disqualifies 5 other aspirants

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has cleared former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Damian Okolo, ThankGod Ibe and Ezenwankwo Okwudili Ewepudike as the party aspirants for the Anambra State governorship primary election.

The party, however, disqualified Hon. Chuma Umeoji, Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo, Cater Dike Umeh, Hon. Nonso Smart and Ozoka Odera Ifeanyi.

According to the National Organizing Secretary of the Party, Ifeanyi Mbaeri, aspirants not cleared are at liberty to exercise their right of appeal in writing.

Mbaeri added that the decision of the screening committee is subject to veto by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, which is the final authority in terms of the eligibility of aspirants.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had scheduled November 6 as the date for the Anambra governorship election, but not before the party primaries are held and concluded between June 10 and July 1, 2021.
