Amotekun nabbed me because my native charm failed, teenage robbery suspect confesses

A teenage armed robbery suspect, Sodiq Oyedokun, has claimed that he was caught because his bulletproof and anti-arrest vest meant to make him disappear from crime scenes failed.

The teenager said this when he was paraded alongside 20 others by the South West Security Network known as Amotekun.

During the parade on Tuesday in Akure, Ondo State capital, Oyedokun said: “My father gave the vest to me. I kept it in our house since it was given to me.

“The bulletproof vest failed me because I ought to have disappeared from the scene of the operation.

“I don’t know why the vest failed me.

“I was expected to have disappeared and not arrested at the scene when the Amotekun personnel stormed the venue of the operation.”
