Last Easter celebration brought good tidings to the Abia State following the hearty reconciliation of two political personalities who were once chummy but later fell apart.
After an unspecified period of strained relationship, a governorship aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) finally buried the hatchet with his political mentor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
The reconciliation took place on April 18 in Arochukwu, during the unveiling of some projects attracted to the community by the Senator representing Abia North.
The projects were Amoba Primary School and Obinkita-Agwuavor asphalted road.
One political family
It was indeed a spectacle when the duo publicly hugged each other, to the delight of the onlookers, some of whom were aware of an existing feud between them.
More significantly, the reconciliation was accentuated by the immaculate white apparel, which they wore, depicting absolute peace.
Ambassador Chijioke Okoro is a grass root politician. A native of Ugwuavor in Arochukwu, the former aide of Dr Kalu is seeking the APC ticket for the governorship of Abia State.
Given his grass roots connection, Amb Chijioke is optimistic of victory in 2023 if he first secures the party’s ticket at the primary election.
No doubt, he enjoys the backing of the boisterous youth population of Abia State, who are craving for his emergence as governor.
They believe that with Amb Chijioke as governor, civil servants and teachers will be given their due honour and respect in the State.
