The management of Ahamdu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Kaduna State, has announced the resumption of academic activities on October 24.
The university’s Director of Public Affairs, Malam Auwal Umar, disclosed this through a statement on Wednesday in Zaria.
He said the resumption followed the suspension of the eight-month strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
Umar continued that the Senate of the university approved the resumption date at its 516th (Emergency) meeting.
He added that the senate also approved the university’s revised academic calendar for 2021/2022 session.
The calendar earlier approved by the Senate at its 513th (Regular) meeting held on November 25, 2021, had to be revised due to the strike which was called off last week, Umar noted.
