The Abia State Government has announced the suspension of Professor Vincent Onwe from office as the Provost of the Abia State College of Education (Technical), Arochukwu, with immediate effect.
The decision, which has been approved by Governor Alex Otti, is part of an ongoing administrative process aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and the effective functioning of the institution.
The government said that pending further directives, Dr. Abdulkarim K. Jibril, the current Deputy Provost, has been appointed to serve as the acting Provost. He is to assume duties immediately and oversee the administration of the College until further notice.
It further directed all staff, students, and stakeholders of the institution to accord the acting Provost full cooperation and support as he discharges his responsibilities.
In a statement issued by the acting Secretary to the State Government, Ikechukwu Uwanna, Esq., the government reiterated that it remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and good governance in the management of public institutions.
