- Orders State’s bank accounts frozen, dissolves boards
The Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has approved the appointment of the following persons to kick-start his administration:
They are:
1. Prof. Kenneth Kalu – Secretary to the State Government (SSG)
2. Pastor Caleb Ajagba, PhD – Chief of Staff (CoS) to the Governor
3. Dr. Ngozi Okoronkwo – Special Adviser, Health Care Delivery Services
4. Mr. Ferdinand Ekeoma – Special Adviser, Media and Publicity
5. Mr. Kazie Ukoh (Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor
7. Mrs. Njum Onyemenam, Accountant General
8. Mr. Ogbonnia Okereke – Head, Special Taskfore on Emergency Cleanup of Aba & Umuahia.
The appointments, according to a terse statement by Ekeoma, take immediate effect.
Meanwhile, the governor has directed that all accounts of the Abia State Government be immediately frozen as well as those of its agencies domiciled in every bank and financial institution across the State and country.
The governor’s order was conveyed through a statement on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma.
He further said Governor Otti has directed the immediate dissolution of all boards of the Abia State Government agencies and parastatals, and subsequently ordered the chief executives of those organisations to hand over to those next in line to them.
