A Catholic priest, Reverend Father Chinedu Nwadike and a seminarian, Emmanuel Nwafor, who were kidnapped in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State, have regained their freedom.
They were released barely 48hrs after they were abducted on the Umunneochi axis of the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt expressway while heading to Enugu State.
Rev Fr Nwadike is the Deputy Registrar of Spiritan University, Nneochi.
Their abductors reportedly demanded N50million ransom for their freedom.
It was, however, not clear if an ransom was paid to facilitate their release.
Reports say they were released at a location not far from where they were kidnapped.
Abia Police spokesman, SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, could not be reached for comment as of the time of filing the report.
