2027: ACF urges eligible Northern adults to register massively, collect voters’ cards

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has urged Northerners to use the ongoing voters’ registration exercise as an opportunity to register ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the inauguration of the 27 local government chapters of the Forum in Dutse, Jigawa State, Chairman of the Forum, Aminu Dalhatu, said the backwardness in education has taken the region several years backward.

The ACF expressed dissatisfaction with voters’ registration apathy in the region, saying he is concerned about the apathy of the northerners towards the ongoing voter registration exercise across the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He challenged northerners to work towards protecting the overall interest of the people of the region by participating fully.

The forum expressed its dissatisfaction with the progress of the exercise in the state and called for more enlightenment efforts to the people’s conscience towards the exercise.

“I believe that in the last four years many people have, for a variety of reasons became eligible to vote, some have attained minimum voting age, some have relocated to other parts of the country”

“But you’ll agree with me that the turn out of the people for this exercise in Jigawa is far from satisfactory and we stressed the need for them to redouble their efforts in the public enlightenment, so that we, as a body can complement government efforts in this direction,” he said.
