Akwa Ibom Governor sacks 2 aides hobnobbing with PDP

Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has sacked two of his aides with immediate effect, the government announced in a statement.

Those dismissed are Joseph Jacob Ikpak (Senior Special Assistant on Support Services), and Felix Ekuri Felix, Special Assistant on Neighbourhood Watch.

Their removal was confirmed in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prince Enobong Uwah.

According to the statement, the decision forms part of Governor Eno’s ongoing restructuring efforts aimed at strengthening the administration in line with the Renewed Hope and ARISE Agenda. The government, however, did not provide specific details regarding their dismissal.

However, sources hinted that their dismissal may not be unconnected with allegations of anti-party activities.

At the weekend, images circulated on social media showing the dismissed aides as members of the Akwa Ibom delegation at the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Elective National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State.

They were spotted alongside former Governor Udom Emmanuel and other political figures during the event.

Meanwhile, the government has not commented on the alleged infractions, but the development has sparked fresh conversations within political circles about internal party loyalty and ongoing realignments in the State.
