The founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide – well known as Winners Chapel – Bishop David Oyedepo, has revealed that God told him to buy an airplane.
Oyedepo stated this known while addressing the criticism that trailed his purchase of private jets.
Speaking in a video circulating on social media, the cleric stated that the decision to acquire aircraft was not his own.
“It was not a discussion. It was God who told me it’s time to get the aircraft,” he said.
Oyedepo added that the origins of his ministry and its major milestones are rooted in direct divine guidance.
Oyedepo stressed that every key decision, including the acquisition of his private aircraft, was taken in obedience to instructions he received from God.
He further dismissed claims of a “co-founder” of the ministry, saying: “This ministry has no co-founder. The first one to hear the mission is this young lady (pointing to his wife).”
The cleric said all the founding principles and “12 pillars” of the commission were given to him directly by God, not by men.
Oyedepo also spoke about the church’s employment policies, emphasising that the ministry is not run in a loose or informal manner.
Bishop Oyedepo added that all staff, regardless of their claims of divine calling, must go through a formal process.
“You write an application, you do an interview, you get an employment letter, you respond,” he stated.
