Again, NNPC reduces petrol price in Abuja

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has again reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) aka petrol at its retail outlets in Abuja.

NNPCL filling stations across the Federal Capital Territory, including those at Zone 6, Kubwa Expressway and Wuse Zone 4, adjusted their prices from N945 to N910 per litre as of Saturday morning.

The reduction marks a N35 drop and comes on the heels of similar moves by other major suppliers and marketers in response to falling global crude oil prices.

The adjustment by the state-owned oil firm follows shortly after the Dangote Petroleum Refinery reduced the ex-depot price of petrol, from N880 to N840 per litre.

Spokesman for the Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, confirmed the development on Monday night, stating that the new price took effect from June 30, 2025.

“PMS price has been reduced from N880 to N840 per litre effective 30th June,” Chiejina said.

The reduction comes weeks after the refinery increased the ex-depot price to N880, a decision influenced by global oil market instability triggered by the 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran, which pushed crude oil prices close to $80 per barrel.
