FG appoints new 4 non-executive directors for CBN, others

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of four new non-Executive Directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

He also approved the renewal of the tenure of three Chief Executive Officers, and two new Chief Executive Officers for some Federal agencies.

This was contained in a statement by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha in Abuja.

The four non-Executive Directors of the CBN are Adeola Adetunji, Professor Mike I. Obadan, Prof. Justitia Odinakachukwu Nnabuko, and Prof. Ummu Ahmed Jalingo.

According to the statement, their appointments are for the initial period of four years, with effect from June 7, 2018.

The President also appointed Prof. Abdullahi Dasilva Yusuf as the Chief Medical Director of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, for the initial period of four years, effective June 19, 2018.

While Dr Ogbonnia Ibe-Enwo was reappointed Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Unwana, Afikpo, Ebonyi State for the final term of four years with effect from August 7, 2018, Arc. Olusegun Olarenwaju Aluko’s tenure was extended for another four years as the Rector of Federal Polytechnic, IIaro, Ogun State, effective September 25, 2018.

The National Institute of Construction Technology, Uromi, Edo State, has the tenure of its Rector, Engr. (Prof) Sunday Ohousi Onohaebi, extended for the final term of four years effective from July 25, 2018.

Buhari also approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs) Pauline N. Ikwugbu as Provost of Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu, Enugu State, for the initial period of four years effective from March 19, 2018.

The President urged the new appointees to regard their appointments as a call to national service, and to perform their responsibilities with uprightness, diligence and prompt response to the yearnings of the public.
