Keyamo at Abia Int’l Airport site, predicts Gov Otti’s imminent return to APC

The minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has metaphorically described Abia State governor, Dr Alex Otti, as a prodigal son, predicting his imminent return to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Otti, earlier in his political odyssey, left the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the APC in 2020.

Shortly after, he moved to Labour Party (LP), on which platform he contested and won the governorship in the 2023 general elections.

Keyamo, while speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Abia International Airport, said euphemistically that the governor had ‘strayed’ away from them (APC).

“Today is not the day for politics; he strayed away; he was with us, but strayed away like the prodigal son.

He also revealed that President Bola Tinubu’s decision to locate the airport in Nsulu stems from his love for Otti.

“The President’s motivation was also the fact that he loves the governor of this state, he loves his spirit. I know the comments he has made about the governor of this state and how much people here loves him so much.”

The groundbreaking ceremony for the airport comes after natives of Nsulu in Isialangwa North Local Government Area protested on December 1 over the use of their cummunal land by the government for the proposed project.
