The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commended the National Assembly for contemplating the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a series of tweets, the party praised the move, calling it ‘Patriotic’.
“The resolution of the joint session of the National Assembly @nassnigeria against President Muhammadu Buhari’s @MBuhari Presidency is a vindication of our earlier stance on the Buhari administration.
We commend the members of the National Assembly @nassnigeria for their patriotism and courage in unanimously standing up for democracy, rule of law, national stability and cohesion at this trying time.
Nigerians would recall that the PDP had consistently pointed out the misrule of the @MBuhari presidency, as well as the unrelenting violations of our constitution, unprecedented executive highhandedness, abuse of the rights of citizens and the erosion of all known democratic norms.”
