The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly taken the 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Hon. Ladi Adebutu, into custody.
He was detained on Monday, November 18, 2024.
According to its Publicity Secretary Arc Kayode Adebayo, the party is deeply concernd over Adebutu’s detention, saying it is for reasons yet unknown.
Adebay urged party members and supporters to remain calm while legal steps are taken to address the situation.
“This is to inform members of our great party, the Peoples’ Democratic Party, that our leader has been detained by the DSS on charges yet unknown.
“Our principal has called for calm, assuring members, supporters, and well-wishers that this moment will pass. It is one of the prices of democracy.
“Lawyers have been informed and will take up the matter on Tuesday morning. We appeal to everyone to remain peaceful and await a resolution,” Adebayo added.
The party promised to keep the public updated as events unfold.
