Herdsmen invade Benue, kill three 24 hours after Osinbajo’s departure

At least three persons have been reported killed and several persons displaced after suspected herdsmen attacked another community in Benue State.

The attack came barely 24 hours after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo left the State at the end of a condolence visit.

The latest attack occurred on Thursday in Ukemberagya community, Gaambe-Tiev Logo Local Government Area.

A resident, who gave his name as Joe, said three people were shot and killed while several houses were also torched during the attack

He gave names of the victims as, Bem Torjem, Apedzan Chia and Ikpuku Peven of Tse Koya.

“The affected settlements are Tse-Mue, Torkaa, Mgbakpa, Torjem and Ifer villages.

“They came at a time farmers were on their way to the farms. There is palpable fear as everybody has now deserted the area,” he said.
