The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed three officers linked to the murder of a student of the Kwara Polytechnic, Abdulqoyyum Abdulyekeen Ishola.
The three officers, following the incident, were whisked to Abuja headquarters from Ilorin, for a discreet investigation.
The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, had ordered the transfer of the case to Abuja for a proper probe.
The student was allegedly murdered on September 4, 2024, by three policemen in the GRA area of the Ilorin metropolis.
The management and students union government of the polytechnic had called for justice for the slain student.
The State Police Commissioner, Victor Olaiya, also vowed to dig into the matter, and ensure justice for the family of the late student and the community.
However, spokesman of the State Police Command, DSP Ejire Adeyemi Toun, said on Friday: “I am yet to get the information to that effect on the dismissal of the three police operatives.”
