Governor Alex Otti has assured leaders and traders at Alaba International Market, Oyinbo, Ladipo, and United Market Leaders and Traders Association of Nigeria of adequate security measures, a business-friendly atmosphere, and conducive environment to invest and do business in Abia State.
Through his Special Adviser on Trade, Commerce, and Industry Chief Nwaka Inem, Governor Otti expressed his administration’s readiness to create physical infrastructural development and facilities that will serve as a one-stop business hub for investors and traders.
Inem emphasized the government’s commitment to providing conducive environment for businesses, highlighting initiatives such as road construction, maintenance, security, and the elimination of double taxation to ease the process of doing business.
Inem gave the assurance during a strategic meeting held on September 11, 2024, with the market leaders at the Alaba International Market union office in Lagos.
The traders expressed enthusiasm and readiness to invest in Aba, but raised security concerns.
Against that backdrop, Inem reassured them that Governor Otti is taking security seriously and has put measures in place to ensure safety.
The meeting was chaired by the President General, Alaba International Markets Amalgamated Council of Sections, High Chief Dr. Amajuoyi Camilus Nnamdi and co-chaired by Pastor Peter Ubaezike, Chairman of General Electrical Dealers Association.
Others at the meeting included Chief Charles Friday Obih, President General of United Market Leaders and Traders Association of Nigeria; Sir Chima Okereke, a developer and investors’ representative, among other leaders of thoughts and stakeholders.
The meeting also featured plans for a Smart Warehouse and Shop project in Aba, inviting traders to participate. These engagements reflect a broader strategy to attract investments, create jobs, and revitalize Abia’s economic landscape.


The meeting was witnessed by notable personalities and the industry stakeholders, including the National Assembly Ambassador and Promoter of Aba Commercial Smart City, Amb. Dr. Osita Offor-De Ultimate Commander, who thanked Governor Otti for his giant strides in the new Abia State industrialization drives.
Offor also appreciated the traders for taking the bold step of investing back home for the benefit of all.
He unveiled plans for a Smart Warehouse and Shop project in Aba, inviting the traders to participate in this groundbreaking initiative.
With the assurances, Inem urged the traders to take advantage of new investment opportunities in Abia, emphasizing that the State is open for business and ready for growth.
