The Coalition of Ogun State Youth Forums (COSYF) has given President Bola Tinubu a 30-day ultimatum, to re-open all international land borders, as part of measures to stimulate economic growth through increased trade and investment.
The group also asked the President to implement policies that will alleviate the pains of Nigerians, orchestrated by hardship.
The coalition, while making the call at a press conference in Abeokuta on Wednesday, said the government must incorporation of non-state actors into the palliative committee to ensure a broader representation of the affected populace.
Spokesperson of COSYF, Femi Owoẹyẹ, who spoke on behalf of the coalition, appealed to President Tinubu to launch a comprehensive health insurance initiative, to include the provision of one-year free coverage for all Nigerians, to alleviate healthcare burdens.
The coalition also wants President Tinubu to institute a well-managed food bank system to ensure the equitable distribution of food resources, especially to vulnerable populations.
Owoeye said: “We must call your attention to the obvious hardship and agony of Nigerians under your watch. Crucial decisions must be made and implemented urgently to alleviate the pains of Nigerians.
“As the President and father of the nation, you must rise to your responsibilities and do more for Nigerians.
“Implement subsidies for public transportation and increase the availability of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to alleviate transportation costs. Introduce financial support programs and grants for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) to stimulate economic growth and job creation,” Owoeye added.
