The Commissioner of Police in the State, Julius Alawari, disclosed this to journalists on Thursday in Jos.

”On October 9, we received information that one Peter Ashom, 80, lured an 11-year-old girl into his room and had carnal knowledge of her.

”He did that under the pretense of sending her on errands anytime she goes to sell groundnuts to him.

”He threatened to kill her if she told anyone.

”The case is still under investigation, and will be charged to court upon completion of due investigation,” he said.

Alawari also said the command arrested one Elijah Anthony, 17, for allegedly kidnapping and killing a five-year-old in Bukuru, Jos South Local Government Area.

”But that in the morning of October 14, at about 5:40am, a pair of shoes belonging to the victim was found close to a handwritten note demanding a ransom of N5 million.

”Upon receipt of the report our men commenced investigation and on October 23, we arrested the suspect.
