2,565 Zamfara varsity students drop out over hike in fees

No fewer than 2, 565 students of Zamafara State cannot continue their studies due to the hike in school fees.

The President of Zamfara State Students Association of the Federal University, Gusau (ZAMSSA), Comrade Haliru Ibrahim, disclosed this while fielding questions from journalists at the university in the State capital, Gusau.

He urged Governor Dauda Lawal and other stakeholders to make necessary arrangements to assist indigent students.

He further said the removal of fuel subsidies and concomitant economic hardship in the country contributed to the students dropping out, especially at the Federal University Gusau.

He urged the students to get part time jobs to support their education.
