The police in Abia State have arrested the General Overseer of Agape Evangelical Ministries in Aba, Bishop Timothy Otu, after the lifeless body of his lover was found in the hotel room where both love birds lodged overnight.
Reports suggest that Bishop Otu’s lover – Evangelist Happiness – a married woman and mother of five children, died during marathon sex.
Bishop Otu and his married lover (now deceased), who is said to be a key figure in his Church, lodged at Jubilee Guest House, Ovom, Ogbor Hill.
Reports further said she died in the hotel room around 11pm on Saturday, August 12, 2023.
Her lifeless body was discovered in the hotel room after Bishop Otu sneaked out after deceiving the receptionist that he was going to buy food at that time of the night.
The manager of the hotel suspected foul play and reported to the Eastern Ngwa Police Station in Obingwa Local Government Area around 1am on Sunday.
The woman was found lying naked with foam coming out of her mouth and nose when police arrived at the scene.
When her mobile phone was accessed, it was discovered that the duo have been in a romantic relationship for quite sometimes.
Bishop Otu was subsequently arrested from his Church at Obikabia Junction while preaching on Sunday and is currently detained at the Eastern Ngwa Police Station Obingwa.
The late Evangelist Happiness hailed from Umuatakawom in Obingwa. Her husband was said to be at work in Bayelsa State when the tragedy occurred.
