The management of the University of Calabar (UniCal) has expelled a total of 566 students, including the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Elvert Ayambem Ekom, over poor Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).
Ayambem represents Ikom 2 State Constituency in the Cross River State legislature.
The institution published a list of the affected students on Tuesday.
The expulsion, which affected Ayambem and other students cut across 100 to 400 levels, affecting 15 faculties and departments of the university.
