The Enugu State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the expulsion of former Governor Sullivan Chime and the Director-General of Voice of Nigeria (VON, Mr. Osita Okechukwu.
It similarly suspended former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama.
The party also expelled former Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Eugene Odo, an aide of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Flavour Eze, Joe Mmamel and Maduka Arum.
The State’s party Secretary, Robert Ngwu, made the announcement on Thursday, adducing anti-party activities as reason for the actions taken against them.
Ngwu said the action was the recommendation of a disciplinary committee, which was ratified by an enlarged State Executive Committee meeting.
They were alleged to have supported candidates of rival political parties during the 2023 general elections.
