In a bid to improve cash availability, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has released N52 billion to commercial banks in the country.
The apex bank also directed the banks to open all branches in all states this Saturday and Sunday – 9am to 4pm – to serve customers’ cash needs.
The CBN, on Thursday, released the old Naira notes to deposit money banks to ease the current cash crunch across the country.
A senior official of the apex bank said more cash would be released subsequently.
