Okowa’s man Oborevwori floors Omo-Agege, wins Delta governorship poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sheriff Oborevwori, winner of the March 18 governorship election in Delta State.

Oborevweri is the favoured candidate of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

Declaring the result at INEC Collation Center in Asaba, the INEC State Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor Rivers State University, Prof Georgewill Owunari, said Oborevwori polled 360,234 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who scored 240,229 votes.

The Labour Party(LP) candidate, Kennedy Pela, came a distant third with 48,047 votes.

Oborevwori clinched 21 out of the 25 local government areas of the State, leaving the APC with four local government areas.
