* I was joking, transport union leader clarifies
The Chairman of Lagos State Park and Garage Management (LSPGM) committee, Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo, has sparked another outrage following his fresh threat to the electorate in Lagos, barely hours to the governorship and State Assembly elections.
MC Oluomo, in a fresh video trending on social media, appeared to be threatening Igbo resident in Lagos if they fail to vote for the candidates of his preferred political party.
He spoke in in Pidgin English, saying: “We have begged them; it is not a fight if they did not vote for us. Iya Chukwudi, if you no wan vote for us, please sit down for home oo. We don’t want your vote.”
Not a few believe that MC Oluomo’s threat may have arisen from the fear of protest votes against his favoured political party, in a manner reminiscent of the February 25 presidential and National Assembly elections, when the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) lost to a less fancied Labour Party (LP).
As of press time, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu had not reacted to MC Oluomo’s fresh threat.
However, the MC Oluoma himself has denied threatening Igbos in Lagos.
Akinsanya said he was only joking with his neighbour Uche, popularly known as Iya Chukwudi, at a parley on Thursday.
He described Iya Chukwudi as his sister and good neighbour, noting that he has always been relating well with Igbos living and trading in Oshodi.
“At no point did I threaten anyone. We’ve enjoyed a long harmonious relationship. Not at this point will I do that. I buy things regularly from Iya Chukwudi and was only joking with her for Governor Sanwo-Olu.
“Mischief makers took our friendly conversation out of context just to label me a bad person. Lagos State has been peaceful and we don’t pray for violence in our State,” he said.

“I thank God I’m now a celebrity. Little thing we joked with has now made me popular. It was my daughter that called my attention to it on social media.
He, nonetheless, urged members of the transport unions to vote
