President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, received the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele, in Aso Rock, Abuja.
Their meeting held a few hours after the Supreme Court ruling stopping the February 10 deadline for the validity of N200, N500 and N1000 banknotes.
A seven-man panel of the Supreme Court led by Justice John Okoro, in a unanimous ruling, granted the interim injunction sought by three northern states namely Kogi, Kaduna and Zamfara, which they made through an after an ex-parte application.
The apex court also held that the Federal government and the CBN pull the breaks on the February 10 deadline pending the determination of the hearing fixed for February 15, 2023.
The outcome of the meeting was not made public at the time of filing this report.
