2023: Obi campaigns in Calabar, promises to revive tourism in Cross River

*End police brutality, ASUU strike

The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has promised to end police brutality and industrial actions by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) if given the mandate.

Obi spoke on Wednesday, during his presidential campaign rally at UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar, Cross River State capital.

He also said his administration would check the rising insecurity in the country, adding that he would secure, unite Nigeria and allow the rule of law to prevail.

“My government will never tolerate police brutality. ASUU will never go on strike, mark my words. We will ensure that we become a productive economy as opposed to a consumption economy.

“We will make tourism work again in Cross River State, which is the tourism capital of Nigeria.

“Above all, we will ensure the Calabar Port is made to become vibrant as a way of diverting economic traffic to the state,” Obi said.
