Notable comedian and actor, Bright Okpocha aka Basketmouth, and his wife Elsie Okpocha, have ended their 12-year-old marriage.
The entertainer, via an Instagram post on Thursday, announced that he and his wife are going their separate ways.
According to him, the decision was made after much deliberation.
He craved the public’s indulgence to respect their privacy at this time.
He wrote: “As much as it pains me to bring my personal life to the public space, this is an unavoidable situation.
“After much deliberation, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage.
“As we move forward separately, we will continue to work together to give our beautiful children all the care, love, guidance and support they need.
“We humbly ask that you respect our privacy as we navigate through these times. Thank you,” he said.
The couple got married in 2010, and have three children namely Janelle, Jason and Amy.
