* Coach Tite resigns after loss
Croatia, on Friday evening, landed in the semi-finals of the on-going World Cup in Qatar after beating hit favourites Brazil following penalty kicks.
The match ended barren in regulation time but Brazil seemed headed for victory when Neymar scored during extra time (105th minute).
However, their joy was short-lived when Croatia equalized through Petkovic in the second half of extra time (116th minute).
In the ensuing penalty kicks, the Croatians won 4-2 to land in the semi-finals, where they will meet Argentina, who beat Netherlands.
Meanwhile, Tite has resigned as the head coach of the Seleçao after Brazil lost to Croatia in the Quarter finals of the Qatar 2022 World Cup via penalties.
Tite has been the head coach of Brazil since 2016 and won the Copa America in 2019 on home soil for the Selecao, their first Copa America trophy in 12 years, and their first trophy in 6 years.
The 61-year-old had earlier indicated he would resign as the coach of the Brazilian national team after the World Cup, winning 61games in 81matches.
