Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reversed all appointments made by his predecessor Adegboyega Oyetola from July 7, 2022, till he left office.
Adeleke, who was sworn in as Osun State governor on Sunday, also ordered the immediate freezing of all accounts of the State.
The State Chief Judge, Adepele Ojo, administered the oath on Adeleke and his deputy, Kola Adewusi in an event attended by several personalities.
Adeleke came into the venue in a long convoy of vehicles around 11:20am and completed taking his oath at about 11:50am.
The new governor gave the directive shortly after being sworn in on Sunday as the sixth governor of the State.
He also ordered the reversal of policies introduced by former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, and vowed to review all appointments by his predecessor, Adegboyega Oyetola since his defeat in July.
While promising to deliver on his campaign promises to the people, he reversed the official name of the state from “State of Osun” to “Osun State” as well as its appellation from “The State of the Virtues” to “The State of the Living Spring”.
He said: “I am well aware of the fact that my responsibility as governor and chief security officer entails meeting the expectation of our people.
“Under my watch, I will correct past injustice, corrupt acts or policies by previous administration which are against the collective interest of our people.”
Present in the main bowl of Osogbo City Stadium to witness the event were dignitaries including the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) presidential candidate and his running mate, Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa respectively, as well as Governors Godwin Obaseki of Edo State and Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State.
Also present were Governors Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State; Duoye Diri of Bayelsa State, as well as former Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose and Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
Wife of the PDP presidential candidate, Titi Atiku, Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, and former Oyo Governor, Chief Rashidi Ladoja, among others were also present at the venue.
