* Dedicates victory to deceased elder brother Isiaka
The Osun State governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has declared that he has come to put an end to the alleged malpractice of shipping the State’s money to Lagos.
Adeleke made the vow while alleging that the All Progressives Congress (APC) government in the State had indulged in the malpractice.
According to him, every amount garnered in Osun would be used to develop the State.
This, he said, is part of the ways of blocking all the leakages through which the resources of the State are frittered away.
Adeleke, who was elected last Saturday on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made the declaration during an interview on Channels TV, shortly after being announced as the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
It was also a day the governor-elect showed the soft side of him, when he broke down in the middle of the interview and wept profusely, while recalling the place of his elder brother and former governor of the State, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, whom he dedicated the victory to, adding that he remembers him every day.
“I remember him all the time. This victory, I dedicate it to him, because he taught me how to…,” profuse weeping, and amid sustained sobs, added: “The former Governor of Osun State, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, his spirit still lives. He died to save. He wanted me to be the governor to save our people from slavery.
“Now, look at what happened. He died because of this cause. And I’m so happy that his spirit still lives. His younger brother – he was the first executive governor of Osun State – now the younger brother is governor-elect. I thank you Lord that his spirit still lives,” he said.
