The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has written to Church leaders in Nigeria requesting them to stage a nationwide peaceful protest over the killing of Deborah Samuel in Sokoto by irate youths for alleged blasphemy.
In the letter addressed to all Block leaders and signed by CAN Secretary General, Joseph Daramola, the Christian organization body urged a peaceful demonstration over the killing of Deborah.
The letter declared that “enough is enough of killings in the name of God”.
Besides, CAN in the letter dated May 14, demanded for justice to redress the killing of Deborah.
Meanwhile, irate youths had on Saturday evening taken over the streets of Sokoto demanding the release of suspects arrested in connection with Deborah’s murder.
