Train attack: Bandits sneak in doctor to attend to pregnant hostage in labour

A pregnant passenger abducted along with others in the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna train has reportedly given delivered a baby while in captivity.

Reports suggest that her captors might have sneaked a doctor into their camp, to attend to her during labour.

This was disclosed by a family member of the victim, who added that she was delivered of the baby at the weekend.

The lady is one of the two pregnant women abducted by the terrorists in the attack on Kaduna-bound train on March 28.

The woman was said to be 8 months pregnant at the time of the incident.

According to her relative, the terrorists sneaked a medical doctor into their hideout to take delivery of the baby.

“They contacted us and broke the news to us that she gave birth at the weekend. However, they did not tell us whether it was a boy or a girl.

“The woman who was reportedly eight months pregnant at the time of the attack, gave birth safely after the terrorists were said to have invited the medical personnel to attend to her. The health condition of the baby is however unknown to us.”
