Arsonists on rampage in Anambra, set fire to Soludo’s LG secretariat

Arsonists, on Thursday afternoon, went on rampage in Anambra State, and set fire to the Aguata Local Government Area headquarters.

Aguata is the home council of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

Reports say the gunmen also razed some shops in local market – Eke Ekwulobia.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, said: “Following the report of the fire incident at the local government headquarters, the command has deployed men to the area and the situation has been brought under control.”

Ikenga also disclosed that fire fighters were swiftly deployed to contain the blaze.

Aguata is fast becoming a theatre of the activities by unknown gunmen. On Monday, two officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were shot dead in Igboukwu-Ezinifite-Uga road.

The governor had declared an end to the Monday sit-at-home, which the mainstream Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) had suspended but some hoodlums are still enforcing it.
