Soludo takes oath of office as governor, promises not to disappoint Anambra people

Professor Chukwuma Soludo, on Thursday, took an oath of office as governor, promising Anambra people that his administration will make them proud.

Soludo was sworn-in by the Anabmra State Chief Judge, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu,  about 9:45am at the Anambra State Government House, Awka.

In his speech, the governor who lauded his supporters across the country, assured that he is assuming the office to serve the people of the State.

The governor recalled the incident that occurred in his village in 2021 where about three police officers were killed by unknown gunmen.

He pledged that his administration would continue to take care of the families of the slain police officers.

He said: “This is the moment. I applied for this job, with my party, APGA and you citizens of the State permitted me to be your servant. God ordained this moment and we are grateful to Him and to you all for the privilege to serve you.

“I and my deputy will work hard every day to make you proud. I remember three police officers who lost their lives to unknown gunmen that attacked us in a meeting with the youths in my village last year. We pledge to continue to take care of their families.”

On the public brawl between former First Lady Ebele Obiano and Bianca Emeka Ojukwu, Soludo apologized for the “breach of protocol”.
