We’ve killed over 3,500 Russian soldiers, destroyed 102 tanks, 14 planes, Ukraine claims

The Ukrainian military claimed on Saturday that it had killed 3,500 Russian soldiers in retaliation for Moscow’s invasion on its soil.

The Ukrainian Air Force has continued to inflict devastating damage on Russian personnel and military equipment across Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Kherson oblasts, successfully shutting down a Russian Il-76 military transport plane in Kyiv’s southern outskirts, according to local media.

Since February 24, 14 Russian planes, 102 tanks, eight helicopters, 536 BBM, 15 heavy machine guns, and one BUK missile have been destroyed, according to the military.

Around 200 Russian service members were held captive, according to the claim.

A joint force is also undertaking a defensive operation and maintaining positions along the whole line of demarcation, according to the report.

The Ukrainian armed forces stated on Friday that they had inflicted huge casualties on Russia, with the defense ministry estimating that nearly 2,800 Russian soldiers had died. It was unclear whether the soldiers had been killed, wounded, or taken prisoner.

Russia, on the other hand, has maintained that it has suffered no substantial losses.

On Friday, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization decided to send the NATO Response Force to Ukraine to oppose Russia’s onslaught.

The NATO Response Force (NRF), which consists of 40,000 troops, has been mobilized for the first time for collective defense. According to NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, the personnel will be deployed to the alliance’s eastern flank.

Additionally, US President Joe Biden stated that US forces were deployed to eastern Europe to assist NATO allies concerned about Russia’s unfriendly acts and that they would not be fighting in Ukraine.
