A Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) has exploded in Escravos, Delta State.
The explosion of the FPSO, known as Trinity Spirit, which occurred in the afternoon of Wednesday, resulted in fire outbreak, causing panic in the Escravos area of Warri South-West Local Government Area.
Offshore residents reportedly said they sighted flames of fire from afar.
No official report has thus far been received on the incident.
In January 2018, there was also an explosion at the Escravos-Lagos Pipeline.
The explosion rocked the pipeline crisscrossing the Ugbokodo community near the Warri refinery in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.
The incident forced residents of the community to scamper for safety in the bush.
