Gunmen abduct father of Imo ex-deputy governor

The Police in Imo State have confirmed the kidnap of Eze Henry Madumere, father of the former deputy governor, Prince Ezeakonobi Madumere.

Reports say the traditional ruler of Ezi, Mbieri Autonomous Community in Mbaitoli Local Government Area, was whisked away on Friday morning.

The traditional ruler was reportedly abducted by some hoodlums around Iho community in Ikeduru Local Government Area.

He was said to have been kidnapped by gunmen who ambushed him on his way to a funeral.

Although a traditional ruler, the kidnap victim is also a businessman, contractor and member of Nigerian Independence Choir.

The Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) Michael Abattam, confirmed the incident and assured that action is being taken to rescue the traditional ruler, and arrest the culprits.
