More companies seek to fix highways on tax-waiver deal with FG

The Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, has disclosed that MTN, Unilever and other companies have indicated interest to key into the tax waiver-based roads construction policy of the Federal government.
He disclosed this while answering questions from members of the House of Representatives during the 2022 budget defence on Wednesday.

The minister, who was asked about the proposed 21 roads to be constructed or rehabilitated by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), said more companies are willing to key into the initiative.
Fashola further explained that interested companies would be actively involved based on certain agreements to address roads infrastructure challenges in the country.
Indeed Dangote and BUA groups had earlier proposed to construct some roads in some parts of the country utilizing the taxes due to the Federal government.
