The Senate, on Tuesday, directed its committees on National Planning; Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions; Marine Transport, Land Transport; as well as Works and Power, to interface with the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, on the Federal government’s Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (2017-2020).
This followed a motion “on the need to critically assess the performance of the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) 2017-2020” sponsored by Senator Abdu Suleiman Kwari.
Kwari said the ERGP, which has now elapsed, could not be said to have met desired socio-economic aspiration.
He said there is the need to critically assess the performance of the Plan to ascertain whether it has met the desired goals.
