Buhari condoles as two persons die in Lagos helicopter crash

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed on Friday that two persons died in a helicopter that crashed at Opebi in Ikeja, Lagos.

The Acting Coordinator of the Lagos Territorial Office of NEMA, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the accident in Lagos.

He said the crash occurred at No. 16, Salvation Road in Opebi, Lagos.

“One person was rescued alive and two persons died, including the pilot,” Farinloye said.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with families, friends and associates of victims of the ill-fated Bell 206 helicopter.

The President’s condolence was contained in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina.

“While the nation awaits a report of the investigation into the accident by aviation regulatory agencies, the President prays that God will console the bereaved families, grant peace to the souls of the dead and speedy recovery to the injured,” the statement added.
