COVID-19: Ghana’s President, Addo Akufo, goes into isolation

On the recommendations of medical experts in Ghana, President Addo Akufo from Saturday, July 4, began a 14- day precautionary self-isolation measure, in compliance with the COVID-19 protocols.

This development was contained in a statement by the Minister for Information, Mr. Kojo Oppon Nkrumah, stating that the president has been asked to do so after a close person within his circle tested positive for COVID-19.

However, Addo Akufo as at Saturday, tested negative to the virus but out of caution is going to be self-isolating.

Governance during the isolation period would not stop as Addo Akufo would continue working during this period at the Presidential villa, Accra , according to the statement.
