Flamingos head coach, Bankole Olowookere, has revealed the game plan for Nigeria’s biggest match in years.
Nigeria will face Japan in the final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat, Morocco, on Saturday.
Busari’s girls booked their place with a commanding 3-1 win over Brazil in the semi-final, while Japan edged North Korea to set up the showdown.
Speaking ahead of the final, Busari said Nigeria will not change what has been working.
“It’s just about showing the same character and playing the same way we played against North Korea, because they play with the same philosophy,” he told http://FIFA.com.
“They want to build the ball, they look at the high line of passes, they want their full-backs to support, so we really want to look at all that. We just really want to pick up the trophy.”
Recall Nigeria beat North Korea 3-1 in the group stage with the same pressing, high-energy approach.
For the Flamingos, it is a chance to make history. For Busari, the message is simple – same character, same style, one mission: bring the trophy home.
